Do you understand the operating parameters of the sand mill?

What are the main operating parameters of the Sand Mill? Today I will give you an introduction.

Sand mill flow rate: Flow rate and output are two different concepts, and the absolute values of the two are the same in the continuous grinding process. In cyclic grinding, the output is 1/1 of the flow rate (n cycles).

Grinding machine linear speed: the size of the linear speed affects the kinetic energy intensity of the grinding medium to the material particles, generally 8-15m/s.

Grinding Media size: The grinding media used by sand mills are mostly round balls. The smaller the diameter, the more medium filled per unit volume, the more contact points between the grinding balls, and the finer the product when the grinding time is the same. If the grinding medium is too small, the outlet separator of the mill is often blocked. Therefore, the structure of the sand mill separator and the gap width determine the size of the grinding medium. The diameter of the grinding media is generally 4 times the width of the sand separator gap.

The filling rate of the grinding media is preferably the grinder. Required grinding effect: The filling rate of the Horizontal Sand Mill is generally 80%~85%. The filling rate of the vertical disc sand mill is generally 75% to 80%. The filling rate of the vertical rod grinder is generally 85-95%. The mass measurement method = the effective volume of the grinder x the filling rate (75-85%) x the bulk density of the medium. In short, if the filling rate of the grinding medium is too high, it is easy to cause excessive temperature rise of the sand mill or blockage of the outlet. The grinding medium filling rate is low, the grinding efficiency is low, the wear is increased, and the grinding time is prolonged.

Grinding media ratio: The larger the media ratio, the greater the kinetic energy and the higher the grinding efficiency. In the production of offset printing inks, steel balls with a diameter of 1.6-2.5 mm are generally used, while zirconia particles with a diameter of 0.3-0.8 mm are used for inkjet inks.
